Phonics - this can be done in such fun ways. Sharing videos from the web, dice games, interactive online games, post-it sorting and so much more. Maybe your child wasn’t ready to grasp certain phonemes when first taught in school.

Yes, reading can be successfully achieved online. It does not replace a child’s 1-1 interactive and quality shared time when sinking into the magical world of a book at home. Online however, there is a wealth of resources for us to dip into. Beyond the reading comprehension sheets, there are interactive stories where you choose the destiny of your characters with animation to bring it to life.

With a teacher as daft as me you are sure to have fun. From writing pretend letters to persuade your headteacher that dry land swimming would be safer (lockdown inspired). Dragons, fairies, aliens, unicorns and a wealth of characters which together we can bring alive through collaborative story writing. I love adding sound clips of pupils roaring or doing voices and dropping images into the background either off the net or the child’s own illustrations. I’m proud of each individual’s progress. Fronted adverbials, adjectives, direct or indirect speech, commas, full stops and so much more - each child is on their own journey.
